Chaitali Shetty

Psychotherapist

  • Referred by a therapist
  • Clients in 7+ countries

Hi, I'm Chaitali! I’ve spent over 15 years walking alongside people as they make sense of their inner worlds, relationships, and the many transitions life brings. My journey as a therapist has been shaped by working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, age groups, and life stages, people navigating emotional lows, identity questions, relationship struggles, work stress, breakups, and a deep sense of feeling unheard or misunderstood.

At the heart of my work is the belief that therapy should feel like a space where you can finally exhale. A place where you are met with warmth, curiosity, and respect, without being rushed or judged. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. Together, we slow things down, explore what’s beneath the surface, and gently work toward clarity, self-trust, and emotional balance. My training spans Transactional Analysis, Inner Child Healing, Psychodrama, Play, Art, and Movement-based therapies. This allows me to work flexibly, some sessions involve thoughtful conversation, while others may invite creative or experiential ways of expressing what feels hard to put into words.

Over the years, I’ve learned that healing doesn’t come from being given answers, but from being asked the right questions at the right time. My role is to help you understand your patterns, reconnect with your strengths, and feel supported as you move toward a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling. Therapy with me is collaborative, confidential, and paced with care. Whether you’re seeking relief, insight, or deeper self-understanding, I aim to offer a space where you feel truly heard and never alone in the process.

15880+ hours of work in therapy

I didn't stop learning after my masters, I have been continuously investing in practical case-based training, client work, and my own personal therapy.

We show therapy sessions so you can better understand a therapist's real-world experience.

Two therapists may both have five years in practice, yet one might have completed 500 sessions while another has completed 3,000. This depends on whether they practice part-time or full-time and how consistently they see clients. Session counts make that difference visible.

Just as you would not trust a surgeon who has only read about the human body but never operated, therapy cannot be mastered through textbooks alone. While many master's programs in India are heavily theory-driven, practical training develops the real skill of therapy - learning how to ask the right question, when to hold silence, when to challenge, and how to respond in complex emotional moments.

Therapists are human, and they carry their own histories. When a client's experiences resemble their own, old patterns can get activated.

For example, if a therapist grew up with a highly critical parent and a client shares a similar experience, that old pattern can get activated. They may unconsciously over-identify, rescue, or react instead of staying objective. Personal therapy helps therapists recognise their own triggers and patterns so they can respond thoughtfully and continue to hold a non-judgemental space. Nobody is born non judgemental, it takes a lot of personal work to get there.

My clients include founders, finance professionals, doctors, working mothers, senior leaders, and even fellow therapists who seek depth-oriented work.

Approaches I Use

  • Transactional Analysis (TA)
  • Inner Child Healing
  • Play Therapy
  • Art Therapy
  • Movement Therapy
  • Psychodrama

✨ Sessions with Chaitali are dynamic. She blends conversation, inner child work, psychodrama, art, and body awareness fluidly, sensing when to deepen reflection and when to shift into experiential work. This means therapy adapts to you rather than forcing you into one method.

What sessions with me feel like

My sessions are warm, accepting, and deeply collaborative. You are welcome exactly as you are, without fear of judgment. Together, we explore what feels alive in the moment, at your pace.

I draw from multiple approaches depending on what you need. Some sessions are reflective and conversational. Others may include drawing, role work, parts exploration, or gently tuning into bodily sensations. I often notice subtle shifts in your body or energy and bring them into awareness when helpful.

Sessions are fluid but intentional, usually ending with a clear takeaway or insight that feels grounded and meaningful.

Outside therapy

I love the little joys, good tea, quiet streets, old bylanes, and places that feel like they have stories to tell. Travel lights me up, whether it’s the beach, the mountains, or a charming corner café. I’m a people-person who enjoys real conversations and shared laughter. Also, forever a saree lover, always chasing beautiful weaves and timeless styles.

What clients say

"She knows exactly what questions to ask, which helps me understand why I feel the way I do. For me, she’s helped confront and work through decades of deep-seated fears and trauma - exactly what I was seeking in therapy. "

Female, Early 30s, London

"I had reached the point where stress was starting to impact every aspect of my life. After her sessions I usually feel calm and relaxed. One unexpected yet incredible benefit has been her impact on my physical well-being. Her therapy is helping me keep my shoulder pain in check."

Male, Early 30s, Bangalore

"I am someone who finds it very hard to describe how I am feeling. I always thought therapy wont work for me because of this reason. Chaitali made me draw with my left hand, to help me connect with my emotions and express what I was feeling. Over time, I have been able to get in touch with my emotions, which has helped me keep my anxiety at bay."

Female, Early 30s, Bangalore

"My time with Chaitali was beautiful; it came at the right time for me. She moved mountains in my personality and suffering. I feel lucky to have found her. She was both technically sound and emotionally present, always open to feedback and change. She employed more than just words to make therapy happen. She is a beautiful gift, and I would highly recommend her to anyone going through psychological or mental trauma."

Female, 32, Pune

Frequently Asked Questions

What approaches do you work with?

I work with Transactional Analysis, Inner Child Healing, Psychodrama, and experiential approaches such as Art, Play, and Movement Therapy, integrating them based on what supports you best.

What languages do you offer sessions in?

I offer sessions in English, Gujarati and Hindi. I also understand Tulu, Kannada, and Tamil.

What type of people may not be the right fit for you?

I may not be the right fit if you are primarily seeking support for autism or psychosis.

Do you have experience working with clients outside India? Which countries?

Yes. I work with clients across multiple countries, including the UK, UAE, Netherlands, Ireland, USA, Germany and Denmark through online therapy.

Are your sessions more structured or exploratory?

My sessions are primarily exploratory and experiential, guided by your pace. While flexible, they are always intentional and grounded rather than unstructured.

Will I get exercises or reflection work between sessions?

Sometimes. I may suggest reflective or creative exercises, but there is no pressure. The focus is on meaningful insight rather than mandatory homework.

What if I disagree with you?

I genuinely welcome disagreement in our work together. If something I say doesn't sit right with you, I encourage you to share it openly. Therapy is a collaborative space, and your voice matters deeply here. Often, moments of disagreement lead to powerful insights, about patterns, boundaries, needs, or past experiences. Exploring these moments together can become an important part of your therapeutic growth and help us build a more honest, trusting relationship.

What if it doesn't feel like it's working after a few sessions?

Let's talk about it openly. Therapy is a collaborative process, and it's important that you feel safe sharing if something doesn't feel right. Sometimes, naming what isn't working can lead to meaningful shifts in the work itself. You are always free to pause, take a break, or explore a different therapist if that feels better for you. We can have that conversation together first, or you can also reach out to the Mindbun team for support in finding a better fit. Your comfort and growth matter more than pushing through something silently.
