Aarti Bisla
Psychotherapist & Coach
- Referred by a therapist
- Clients in 5+ countries
Hi, I'm Aarti! My journey into psychotherapy grew out of both personal experience and a deep curiosity about how people make meaning of their lives. Before I ever trained as a therapist, I knew what it was like to sit in the client’s chair, to feel the weight of memories, defenses, and unspoken grief. That lived experience continues to shape how I show up: not as someone who fixes or prescribes, but as a witness, a challenger when needed, and a steady companion in the process of making sense.
In my practice, I draw from Transactional Analysis and NLP, bringing a warm, reflective, and inquisitive presence into the room. For me, therapy is relational at its core, the way clients relate to me often mirrors the relationships they navigate outside. By exploring those patterns with care, I help clients find new possibilities for connection and change. I work with adults across different life stages, from navigating relationships and identity to facing systemic and cultural challenges. What remains central is my belief that therapy isn’t about quick fixes; it’s about creating space where deeper awareness, resilience, and growth can emerge.
1075+ hours of work in therapy
I have been continuously investing in practical case-based training, client work, and my own personal therapy.
We show therapy sessions so you can better understand a therapist's real-world experience.
Two therapists may both have five years in practice, yet one might have completed 500 sessions while another has completed 3,000. This depends on whether they practice part-time or full-time and how consistently they see clients. Session counts make that difference visible.
Just as you would not trust a surgeon who has only read about the human body but never operated, therapy cannot be mastered through textbooks alone. While many master's programs in India are heavily theory-driven, practical training develops the real skill of therapy - learning how to ask the right question, when to hold silence, when to challenge, and how to respond in complex emotional moments.
Therapists are human, and they carry their own histories. When a client's experiences resemble their own, old patterns can get activated.
For example, if a therapist grew up with a highly critical parent and a client shares a similar experience, that old pattern can get activated. They may unconsciously over-identify, rescue, or react instead of staying objective. Personal therapy helps therapists recognise their own triggers and patterns so they can respond thoughtfully and continue to hold a non-judgemental space. Nobody is born non judgemental, it takes a lot of personal work to get there.

3+ years of in-depth, practical training in psychotherapy
- 3+ years of advanced training in Transactional Analysis from International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA)
- Advanced Training in TA (Organisational Development) from Navgati, recognised by International Transactional Analysis Association
- NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Training from Iridium
✨ Aarti brings rigorous training in Transactional Analysis from the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) - the gold standard for training in TA.
I've been privileged to work with clients ranging from young adults exploring identity and relationships, to professionals navigating workplace stress, to individuals processing grief, boundaries, and systemic or cultural challenges.
You are in the right place if you are not primarily seeking support for active addiction, self-harm, neurodivergence or psychosis.

Approaches I Use
- Transactional Analysis (TA)
- Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
A lot of how we react in relationships and at work happens on autopilot, old patterns we picked up early in life that quietly run in the background. Aarti helps you spot these patterns, understand where they came from, and gradually choose how you respond instead of just reacting.
What sessions with me feel like
My sessions often begin with listening, giving clients the space to bring what feels most pressing, even if it seems scattered or unformed. From there, I draw threads together, noticing patterns, values, and beliefs. Sessions are collaborative and free-flowing, but I hold a gentle structure so we don't get lost in “just talking.”
I sometimes offer reflections or small questions, journaling prompts, or observations to carry between sessions. For some clients, this could mean clarifying what support they truly need; for others, it might be practicing boundaries or reflecting on moments of dissonance. I balance support with gentle challenge, bringing awareness to contradictions or defenses, not to confront but to help clients see more clearly. Each session ends with a sense of continuity, carrying insights into the next conversation.

Outside therapy
I find balance in small joys, fiction, poetry, journaling, and the patience of embroidery. Movies keep me from overthinking, while my dog insists on being the main character of my life (and she might just be right). I draw energy from my friends & therapist community, the laughter of friends and family, and the occasional plot twist that keeps things interesting.

Frequently Asked Questions
What approaches do you work with?
I primarily work with Transactional Analysis (TA) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). These approaches help us explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships, and support meaningful shifts in how you relate to yourself and others.
What languages do you offer sessions in?
I offer sessions in English and Hindi. I also understand Kannada, Marathi, and Tamil.
What type of people may not be the right fit for you?
I may not be the right fit if you are primarily seeking support for active addiction, self-harm, neurodivergence, or psychosis, as these concerns often require more specialised or multidisciplinary care.
Do you have experience working with clients outside India? Which countries?
Yes. I have worked with clients internationally through online therapy, including individuals from Singapore, the UAE, the USA, and the Netherlands, in addition to India.
Are your sessions more structured or exploratory?
My sessions are collaborative and exploratory, while still holding a gentle structure. This allows space for open reflection while helping us stay connected to patterns, insights, and the direction of the work.
Will I get exercises or reflection work between sessions?
Sometimes. I may suggest reflective questions, or small observations to notice between sessions when they feel helpful, but these are always optional and tailored to your process.
What if I disagree with you?
I genuinely welcome disagreement in our work together. If something I say doesn't sit right with you, I encourage you to share it openly. Therapy is a collaborative space, and your voice matters deeply here. Often, moments of disagreement lead to powerful insights, about patterns, boundaries, needs, or past experiences. Exploring these moments together can become an important part of your therapeutic growth and help us build a more honest, trusting relationship.
What if it doesn't feel like it's working after a few sessions?
Let's talk about it openly. Therapy is a collaborative process, and it's important that you feel safe sharing if something doesn't feel right. Sometimes, naming what isn't working can lead to meaningful shifts in the work itself. You are always free to pause, take a break, or explore a different therapist if that feels better for you. We can have that conversation together first, or you can also reach out to the Mindbun team for support in finding a better fit. Your comfort and growth matter more than pushing through something silently.
