Navinder
Certified Transactional Analyst & Psychotherapist
- Referred by a therapist
Hi, I'm Navinder. I came to this work through my own experience of carrying something I did not have words for. It was only through therapy that I began to understand what had been happening in my body and my life, and that process of finding language for what felt formless gave me a particular sensitivity to people who are stuck in ways they cannot yet name.
What began as a personal search led me to a two-day Transactional Analysis workshop. I walked in curious and walked out knowing I would not stop. That was fifteen years ago. I have been in this training ever since, moving through each stage of a demanding and deeply rigorous path to become a Certified Transactional Analyst in Psychotherapy, a qualification held by very few practitioners in India. The path to CTA is not a course you complete. It is years of supervised clinical work, personal therapy, case presentations, and examination under internationally accredited faculty. It requires you to know yourself as much as you know the theory.
Over the years I have worked with clients across India and internationally, across cultures, life contexts, and very different kinds of struggles. That breadth has taught me how much a person's system, their family, their community, the values they have inherited and not yet questioned, shapes what they carry into the room. I bring that lens into every session.
One of the most significant shifts of my own life has been moving from hyper-independence to interdependence, understanding that belonging matters, to people, to community, to the thread that connects us to those who came before us. That understanding now sits quietly at the centre of how I hold space. Before anything else, I try to read what was missing. Most of us carry unmet needs from childhood, not because anyone failed us deliberately, but because no childhood is complete. Understanding what a client did not receive shapes how I show up, whether I hold a steadier, more nurturing presence or bring more direct challenge.
5700+ hours of work in therapy
I didn't stop learning after my masters, I have been continuously investing in practical case-based training, client work, and my own personal therapy.
We show therapy sessions so you can better understand a therapist's real-world experience.
Two therapists may both have five years in practice, yet one might have completed 500 sessions while another has completed 3,000. This depends on whether they practice part-time or full-time and how consistently they see clients. Session counts make that difference visible.
Just as you would not trust a surgeon who has only read about the human body but never operated, therapy cannot be mastered through textbooks alone. While many master's programs in India are heavily theory-driven, practical training develops the real skill of therapy - learning how to ask the right question, when to hold silence, when to challenge, and how to respond in complex emotional moments.
Therapists are human, and they carry their own histories. When a client's experiences resemble their own, old patterns can get activated.
For example, if a therapist grew up with a highly critical parent and a client shares a similar experience, that old pattern can get activated. They may unconsciously over-identify, rescue, or react instead of staying objective. Personal therapy helps therapists recognise their own triggers and patterns so they can respond thoughtfully and continue to hold a non-judgemental space. Nobody is born non judgemental, it takes a lot of personal work to get there.

✨ Navinder works with what you think, what you feel, and what lives beneath both. She brings in body awareness, creative work, and imagery alongside conversation, and adapts what she uses based on what you need and where you are in the therapy process keeping your journey dynamic leading to meaningful change.
What sessions with me feel like
Sessions begin with your week. What has been happening, what is sitting with you, what you want to bring in today. Early on I also spend time making a simple contract with you, not a rigid plan but a shared understanding of what we are working toward and why.
Before anything else, I am already reading what feels missing underneath what you are bringing. That reading guides how I show up, whether I hold a steadier, more nurturing space or bring something more direct. It is not a fixed style. It depends entirely on what you need in that part of your journey. I pay close attention to the body alongside the conversation. How you are showing up physically tells me as much as your words do, and I work with that in a way that meets where you actually are. For clients who are drawn to creativity and imagery, I bring in drawing and visual work, sometimes drawing alongside you and exchanging what each of us sees.
Sessions close with what you are taking away. I give a reflective prompt or a small exercise depending on who you are, sometimes one question to sit with through the week, sometimes a few things you have arrived at yourself that you want to track.

Outside therapy
I am probably gaming right now, or thinking about it. Music runs in the background of most of my day and I find it genuinely grounding in a way I cannot always explain. I also design workshops that mix learning with play, because I believe that is when people absorb things most naturally, including me. Also, I have learned over the years that being with people, really with them, is where I come back to myself and feel at peace.

I've been referred to Mindbun by therapist Deepa Kumar.
Therapists know what good therapy feels like. That's why this referral is stronger, and why you can trust it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What approaches do you work with?
I work primarily with Transactional Analysis, while also integrating Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic and Gestalt approaches, somatic psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, NLP, and trauma-focused work. This integrative approach allows us to explore patterns deeply while supporting change at emotional, cognitive, and body levels.
What languages do you offer sessions in?
I offer sessions in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
What type of people may not be the right fit for you?
I may not be the right fit if you are primarily seeking support for neurodivergence or psychosis, as these concerns often require more specialised or multidisciplinary care.
Do you have experience working with clients outside India? Which countries?
Yes. I have worked with clients internationally through online therapy, including individuals based in India and the UAE.
Are your sessions more structured or exploratory?
My sessions balance structure with exploration. We may set goals and direction, while also allowing space for deeper themes, emotions, and unconscious material to emerge at your pace.
Will I get exercises or reflection work between sessions?
Sometimes. I may suggest reflections, awareness practices, or creative exercises when they feel supportive, but there is no fixed homework.
What if I disagree with you?
I genuinely welcome disagreement in our work together. If something I say doesn't sit right with you, I encourage you to share it openly. Therapy is a collaborative space, and your voice matters deeply here. Often, moments of disagreement lead to powerful insights, about patterns, boundaries, needs, or past experiences. Exploring these moments together can become an important part of your therapeutic growth and help us build a more honest, trusting relationship.
What if it doesn't feel like it's working after a few sessions?
Let's talk about it openly. Therapy is a collaborative process, and it's important that you feel safe sharing if something doesn't feel right. Sometimes, naming what isn't working can lead to meaningful shifts in the work itself. You are always free to pause, take a break, or explore a different therapist if that feels better for you. We can have that conversation together first, or you can also reach out to the Mindbun team for support in finding a better fit. Your comfort and growth matter more than pushing through something silently.
