Rajkamal Baddepudi
Psychotherapist & Coach
- Referred by a therapist
Hi, I'm Rajkamal. I spent 25 years inside the corporate world, across leadership roles, organisations, and the particular kind of weight that comes with being the person others look to. For a long time, that was my world. What eventually pulled me away from it was a growing sense that I wanted to go deeper with people than the work I was doing would allow. That search led me to psychotherapy through transactional analysis, and it has been the most significant journey of my life since. I shifted from my corporate role to psychotherapy eventually, through rigorous training and I have not looked back.
One thing I have come to understand about myself as a therapist is that I do not choose my clients by the nature of what they bring. Addiction, sexual concerns, infidelity, suicidal ideation, the parts of life people have learned to hide even from themselves. I have sat with all of it and I have never once felt that any of it made a person less deserving of a steady, present therapist. When I notice any hesitation in myself, I treat it as something to take to supervision, not as a reason to say no. My ethical position is simple: the work is the work and healing of a client happens through acceptance in every form.
I am a gentle presence in the room. People tend to find me approachable and safe to talk to, which I think comes from the fact that I am genuinely curious about people and not in a hurry to fix anything. I came from a world where performance and results were everything. What I bring to therapy is almost the opposite of that.
1000+ hours of work in therapy
I have been continuously investing in practical case-based training, client work, and my own personal therapy.
We show therapy sessions so you can better understand a therapist's real-world experience.
Two therapists may both have five years in practice, yet one might have completed 500 sessions while another has completed 3,000. This depends on whether they practice part-time or full-time and how consistently they see clients. Session counts make that difference visible.
Just as you would not trust a surgeon who has only read about the human body but never operated, therapy cannot be mastered through textbooks alone. While many master's programs in India are heavily theory-driven, practical training develops the real skill of therapy - learning how to ask the right question, when to hold silence, when to challenge, and how to respond in complex emotional moments.
Therapists are human, and they carry their own histories. When a client's experiences resemble their own, old patterns can get activated.
For example, if a therapist grew up with a highly critical parent and a client shares a similar experience, that old pattern can get activated. They may unconsciously over-identify, rescue, or react instead of staying objective. Personal therapy helps therapists recognise their own triggers and patterns so they can respond thoughtfully and continue to hold a non-judgemental space. Nobody is born non judgemental, it takes a lot of personal work to get there.

✨ Rajkamal brings a blend of deep psychotherapeutic work and high quality coaching training, allowing sessions to move fluidly between reflection and forward movement. This makes his work especially useful for clients who want both inner clarity and tangible progress in real-life goals, decisions, and transitions.
I’ve been privileged to work with clients ranging from corporate leaders and professionals, to young adults navigating identity and relationships, to individuals facing burnout or life transitions.
You are in the right place if you are not primarily seeking relief from conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders or psychosis.

Approaches I Use
- Transactional Analysis (TA)
- Relational Therapy
My work is grounded in Transactional Analysis, I draw on its depth to help clients see themselves more clearly, make conscious choices, and move toward growth and healing that is lasting.
What sessions with me feel like
Some clients find their way best when there is room to roam, when we can follow what comes up and see where it leads. Others need something to hold onto, a clearer structure, a sense of where we are going. I have worked both ways and I adapt without much thought to it. What matters to me is that you feel oriented, not that we follow a particular format. I have a library of tools and exercises I have built over time, and I bring them in when something calls for it. These are not prescribed. If a particular framework or exercise might open something up, I will offer it and we will see if it fits. If it does not, we move on.
My confrontations are soft and considered, and I tend to be the kind of therapist people describe as easy to talk to. At the same time I am paying close attention to what is happening between us in the room, not just what is being said but what the relationship itself is showing us. Over time that relational layer becomes some of the most useful material we work with. I notice what your presence brings up in me and I hold that as information. As the relationship deepens I will share more of that when it feels useful. It is not something I rush.

I offer sessions in English, Hindi, and Telugu.
What type of people may not be the right fit for you?
I may not be the right fit if you are primarily seeking support for schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or psychosis.
Do you have experience working with clients outside India? Which countries?
Yes. I work extensively with NRI clients across India, USA, France and Netherlands.
Are your sessions more structured or exploratory?
My sessions are primarily exploratory and client-led, but I bring in structure and practical tools when clarity or direction is needed.
Will I get exercises or reflection work between sessions?
No, all work is done in-between sessions.
What if I disagree with you?
I genuinely welcome disagreement in our work together. If something I say doesn't sit right with you, I encourage you to share it openly. Therapy is a collaborative space, and your voice matters deeply here. Often, moments of disagreement lead to powerful insights, about patterns, boundaries, needs, or past experiences. Exploring these moments together can become an important part of your therapeutic growth and help us build a more honest, trusting relationship.
What if it doesn't feel like it's working after a few sessions?
Let's talk about it openly. Therapy is a collaborative process, and it's important that you feel safe sharing if something doesn't feel right. Sometimes, naming what isn't working can lead to meaningful shifts in the work itself. You are always free to pause, take a break, or explore a different therapist if that feels better for you. We can have that conversation together first, or you can also reach out to the Mindbun team for support in finding a better fit. Your comfort and growth matter more than pushing through something silently.
